Annual Live Nativity and Call for Artwork

On Saturday, Dec. 6, 6:15–7:30p.m. prepare for Christmas through the sights and sounds of the Holy Family in Bethlehem, surrounded by all of their visitors that sacred night, including live animals! Walk the pilgrimage around Larsen Field through beautiful images of the 1,700-year-old Nicene Creed (what we believe about God) as sounds of chant of a teen choir near the Nativity fade into the joyful noise of adults and children visiting and enjoying refreshments around a fire pit at the end. Meet Bishop St. Nicholas who will give gifts and stop for a quiet moment with Our Eucharistic Lord resting in our midst in the Adoration Tent. Leave prayer requests in a special basket, and people will pray for you throughout Advent.

Teens, join the cast? Contact Jeanette Middleton-Sudano at Jeanette.middleton@comcast.net.

Adults, teens, families: Help with set up, greet, or clean up: Contact Kathy Kirby at adoration@stjohnsp.org.

Seeking Original Art and Postcards for Live Nativity Walk

Help bring the Nicene Creed to life in our Live Nativity Pilgrimage on Dec. 6. 1,700 years ago this year, the bishops met in Nicaea and with the Holy Spirit’s guidance, the Church was gifted with the Nicene Creed, what we believe, which we recite each Sunday at Mass.

Children AND adults are invited to paint, color, or draw small (8 ½ x 11” or smaller paper) artworks depicting any parts of the Creed (listed below).

Donate postcards of beautiful art, which show any of these truths listed below.

Bring your art and cards to the basket in the Gathering Space before Nov. 30.
