Learning to Pray with Scripture: The Basics of Scriptural Prayer with St. Ignatius of Loyola

Join us for a basic introduction to praying with Scripture with St. Ignatius of Loyola as our guide!

Hearing God speak personally and powerfully through the Scriptures is at the heart of St. Ignatius’ life-changing Spiritual Exercises. Over the centuries, St. Ignatius’ approach has helped people of all ages to experience the power of God’s Word at work in their daily lives.

Our three-session introduction will help beginners (and those who want a refresher) to learn the basics of Ignatian prayer, how the Holy Spirit engages the imagination, and how to let God’s Word speak to you powerfully and personally.

What You Will Need:

  • No experience and no registration necessary.

  • A Catholic translation of the Bible (the Revised Standard Version – Catholic Edition or the New American Bible Revised Edition are recommended).

  • A journal or notebook for your personal use.

  • A heart open to encountering the Lord powerfully in your prayer with Scripture.
