What To Expect at Christmas Masses

Do we need to wear masks?
We strongly encourage you to wear masks at all of our Christmas Masses. While Anne Arundel County health guidelines do not require indoor masking at this time, parishioners are encouraged to wear masks.

Please note that masking is mandatory at the 9a.m. Christmas Day Mass in the Auditorium. The 9a.m. Christmas Day Mass in the Auditorium is a “Mask-Required” Mass for those families and individuals whose health concerns prevent them from attending other Masses.

Will there be extra seating opened up at the Christmas Masses?
Yes. In addition to a number of extra Masses being offered (see schedule above) we are also adding additional seating in the Gathering Space and Good Shepherd room.

Are you offering any Outdoor Masses?
Every Mass can be heard on the church plaza, and a monitor broadcasts the video outside to the right-side of the Plaza. Parishioners who wish to worship outside may participate this way at every Christmas Mass. And Holy Communion is brought to all those who are praying outside on the Plaza. This option offers the greatest amount of flexibility for parishioners who desire or need to remain outside.

Will Holy Communion be offered outside on the Plaza for parishioners who prefer to pray from outside?
Yes. As we have done throughout the pandemic, we will bring Holy Communion to those who choose to pray outside (making use of the outdoor speakers and the one video feed located on the right side of the plaza.)

Will those distributing Holy Communion sanitize their hands and wear masks before Communion begins?
Yes. All of the clergy and lay ministers will wear masks and sanitize their fingers before the distribution of Holy Communion.

For parishioners who are looking for less-crowded Christmas Masses, what do you recommend?
Avoid the 4p.m. and 4:15p.m. Masses. We recommend the 8p.m., Midnight, and Christmas Day Masses for those who are looking for less crowded Masses.

Will parking be like a regular Sunday?
Yes, and it will be crowded at our earlier Christmas Eve Masses. Please note that we will not use stadium parking at any Masses. Please also note that we ask you NOT to park in the neighborhoods surrounding the church, especially on Sweet Brush Ct. Thank you for helping us be good neighbors!

Are there Friday afternoon confessions on Christmas Eve (Friday, December 24)?
No. Our Christmas Eve Mass schedule takes precedence over our regular Friday schedule.

Are there Saturday afternoon confessions or a 5:15p.m. Vigil Mass on Christmas Day (Saturday, December 25)?
No. There are no Saturday afternoon confessions or 5:15p.m. Vigil Mass on Christmas Day.

Will the Mass schedule on Sunday, Dec. 26, be like a regular Sunday?
Yes. We will have Masses on Sunday, Dec. 26, at 7:30a.m., 9a.m., 11a.m., and 5:15p.m.
