Mental Health First Aid for Youth Training
The Archdiocese obtained a grant to train 1,000 adults Mental Health First Aid for Youth before June 30. The course is normally $170, but is offered at no cost. This national certification teaches faith leaders, employers, teachers, youth group leaders, volunteers, and other professionals to respond with care and genuine support to people experiencing a mental health or substance use concern or crisis.
The Mental Health Companions at St. John the Evangelist will host an in-person YOUTH response course on June 4, 9a.m. – 12:30p.m. and June 5, noon - 3p.m. in the School Auditorium. Note: the course requires two hours of pre-work online before the first session.
This training is a great way to evangelize and answers Archbishop Lori’s call to address the growing mental health needs in our communities and is part of the Archdiocese’s Mental Wellness Initiative. You will receive an electronic Mental Health First Aid manual and Mental Health First Aid Certification for three years upon completion of course requirements.
