On Saturday, May 16, two young men very familiar to St. John the Evangelist will be ordained to the diaconate. Parishioner Sem. Ben Oursler and former pastoral year seminarian, Sem. Michael Moore will serve as transitional deacons for one year in preparation for a June 2027 ordination to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Parishioners Rev. Mr. Stephen Kirby and Rev. Mr. Russ Sullivan, and former pastoral year seminarian Rev. Mr. Connor Schmidt will be ordained to the priesthood on June 20.

Saturday, May 16

Due to the Ordination to the Diaconate at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, Daily Mass will be celebrated at 8a.m. to give our clergy and staff time to get to the Mass at 10a.m.

  • 8a.m. - Daily Mass at St. John the Evangelist

  • 10a.m. - Ordination to the Diaconate at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen

Saturday, May 23

  • 7p.m. - Rev. Mr. Michael Moore will concelebrate and preach at the Outdoor Extended Pentecost Vigil on Larsen Field. All are welcome. The event will be livestreamed.

Sunday, May 24

  • 11a.m. - Rev. Mr. Ben Oursler will celebrate his first Mass at St. John the Evangelist as a deacon. A light reception will follow the Mass. All are welcome. The Mass will be livestreamed.

Saturday, June 20

Due to the Priesthood Ordination at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, Daily Mass will be celebrated at 8a.m. to give our clergy and staff time to get to the Mass at 10a.m.
