Prayers for Healing

Below are various prayers for healing that you can pray any time, asking the Lord for healing.

Prayer for Healing

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and consoler of our weakness, who delivered Peter’s mother-in-law and the ruler’s son from a high fever; who restored strength to the paralytic, cleansed the lepers, healed the centurion’s servant; who saved the woman suffering from hemorrhage, raised up the man lying helpless on his pallet at the pool of Bethsaida, went about the towns and villages healing all kinds of ailments … may the sick … be freed from their illness and restored in body and mind, and may rightly see fit to praise your power until the end of their days; you who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for Inner Healing

Lord Jesus you come to heal
our wounded and troubled hearts,
I beg you to heal the torments that
cause anxiety in my heart;

I beg you to come into my life
and heal me of the trauma and harms
that struck me in my early years
and from the injuries that they caused
throughout my life.

Lord Jesus, you know my burdens.
I lay them all on your Good Shepherd’s Heart.
I beseech you – by the merits of the great, open
wound in your heart –
to heal the small wounds that are in mine.

Heal the pain of my memories,
so that nothing that has happened to me
will cause me to remain in pain and anguish,
filled with anxiety.

Heal, O Lord,
all those wounds that have been
the cause of all the evil that is rooted in my life.

I want to forgive
all those who have offended me.
Look to those inner sores
that make me unable to forgive.

You came to forgive the afflicted of heart,
Please, heal my own heart.
Heal, my Lord Jesus, those intimate wounds
that cause me anguish and pain.

I offer you my heart.
Accept it, Lord, purify it and give me
the sentiments of your Divine Heart.

Help me to be meek and humble.
Heal me, O Lord.
Grant me to regain peace and joy
In the knowledge that you are the Resurrection and the Life.

Make me an authentic witness
to your Resurrection,
Your victory over sin and death,
your living presence among us. Amen.

Prayer for Healing from Padre Pio

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me.

Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul and spirit. Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

Cast out anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ precious blood.

Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart.

Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and peace, and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life. And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to do your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Prayer for the sick invoking Jesus' miraculous healings

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and consoler of our weakness, who delivered Peter’s mother-in-law and the ruler’s son from a high fever; who restored strength to the paralytic, cleansed the lepers, healed the centurion’s servant; who saved the woman suffering from hemorrhage, raised up the man lying helpless on his pallet at the pool of Bethsaida, went about the towns and villages healing all kinds of ailments … May I receive the gift of your healing and so be freed from my illness and restored in body and mind, and so praise your power until the end of my days. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Healing from Shame

Dear God, I come to you today with a heavy heart, feeling the weight of shame and disgrace in my life. I ask for your mercy and grace to cover me now.

Thank you for your love and forgiveness and for the promise of restoration and wholeness. Help me to see myself as you see me, as a beloved child of God who is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Lord, I pray that you would lift the burden of shame and restore my dignity. Help me to find my worth and value in you, and not in the opinions or expectations of others.

Give me the strength and courage to face any shame or disgrace that may come my way. Fill me with your peace, joy, and hope.

Help me to meditate on your Word and to find comfort and strength in your promises. Above all, I thank you for your faithfulness and your love. I trust in your goodness and your mercy, and I know that you will never leave me or forsake me. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Healing Prayer of Surrender

Dear Lord Jesus, it is my will to surrender to you everything that I am and everything that I’m striving to be. I open the deepest recesses of my heart and invite your Holy Spirit to dwell inside of me.

I offer you my life, heart, mind, body, soul, spirit, all my hopes, plans and dreams. I surrender to you my past, present, and future problems, habits, character defects, attitudes, livelihood, resources, finances, medical coverage, occupation, and all my relationships. I give you my health, physical appearance, disabilities, family, marriage, children, and friendships.

I ask you to take Lordship over every aspect of my life. I surrender to you all my hurt, pain, worry, doubt, fear, and anxiety, and I ask you to wash me clean. I release everything into your compassionate care.

Please speak to me clearly, Lord. Open my ears to hear your voice. Open my heart to commune with you more deeply. I want to feel your loving embrace. Open the doors that need to be opened and close the doors that need to be closed. Please set my feet upon the straight and narrow road that leads to everlasting life. Amen.

Prayer for God’s Healing Grace

Dear Lord, we confess our need for you on this day, for your healing and your grace, to restore our hope. Let us remember that you work on behalf of those you love, constantly, powerfully, completely

Forgive us for trying to fix our situations by ourselves when true help and healing must be found in you first.

Forgive us for forgetting how much we need you, above everyone and everything else. We come to you and bring you the places we are hurting. You see where no one else is able to fully see or understand. You know the pain we’ve carried. The burdens. The cares.

You know where we need to be set free. We ask for your healing and grace to cover every broken place. Every wound. Every heartache. Thank you that you are able to do far more than we could ever imagine. Thank you for your Mighty Power that acts on behalf of your children.

We reach out to you and know that you are restoring and redeeming every place of difficulty, every battle, for your greater glory. Thank you that you will never waste our pain and suffering. We love you. We need you today. Through Christ our Lord, we pray, Amen.

Prayer for Miraculous Healing

Dear Lord, You are the giver of life.
In you, are only good things
In you, are mercy and love.
In you is healing of the nations.
In you is freedom of worry and freedom of pain.

Lord Almighty, You are full of mercy and grace.
In you, all healing is performed.
You, Lord, are the miracle worker.
In your spirit, your gift of healing is alive.
In you Lord, we can put our trust that you can heal us,
and protect us from the enemy, and death of our soul.

You, Lord, are a miracle worker for the sick and the lost souls.
Help us put our trust in You.
You, Lord, are the most excellent physician.
You heal, You protect, You care, You love,
You are kind, You are patient, You are thoughtful, You are a strength.

You, Lord, are our Creator.
You know our thoughts, our sighing, and our cryings.
You are wonderful and do all the good things for us.
Heal us, Lord, if it is Your will.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Resting in God's Love

God of Goodness, I come into your presence so aware of my human frailty and yet overwhelmed by your love for me.

I thank you that there is no human experience that I might walk through where your love cannot reach me.

If I climb the highest mountain, you are there, and yet if I find myself in the darkest valley of my life, you are there.

Teach me today to love you more.

Help me to rest in that love that asks nothing more than the simple trusting heart of a child. Amen.
