Dome, Reredos & Stations Updates
I'm excited to share more photos of the church renovation as it progresses and we get closer to returning to our church home this August.
Dome and Art Updates
Our new coffered ceiling continues to take shape. Woodworkers are now completing the last sections of the beams closest to the dome. Meanwhile, the painters are coming behind, as you can see, with the coats of paint in various stages.
Color Palette and Choir Area
In this renovation update, I want to share the new layout for our choir and music area.
LOTS of Updates to Share with You
Thank you for making the transformation of our church possible through your generous gifts and donations! The artwork and sacred furnishings incorporating the Scripture verses described above will be beautiful. But behind the scenes, in the "guts" of the building, we are able to make a significant investment in the building and infrastructure that will last for years, thanks to your generosity.
Heavenly Worship
As the renovation work continues to progress in the church, the primary focus has remained on the ceiling, where the contractors are finishing the installation of new ductwork and diffusers for the heating and air conditioning system.
Ceiling Work
Please stay tuned for more updates as the renovation work progresses. Thank you again for your continued prayers for all those involved in the work and your incredible generosity, which is making this work possible.
Wires, Wires, Everywhere!
As we move into the Thanksgiving holiday, I'm happy to share a few more updates on our church renovation project.
A Photo-Filled Renovation Update
It's been a few weeks since our last update, and a lot of progress has been made in our church renovation. Please see these highlights for all that has been happening!
Demolition Complete - More Complex Work Now Begins
The bulk of the demolition work has now been completed, and the final pieces of the old ceiling are being hauled away.
Renovation Update - Future and Past
This week, the construction crew continued working on the church ceiling while also beginning to address the floor around the sanctuary/altar area.
Steady progress in the first phase of our renovation
Our church renovation project began on Tuesday, September 3, just a little over two weeks ago. Since then, steady progress has been made, and the crew has been working incredibly hard in the first phase, which consists primarily of asbestos abatement and the demolition of the remaining ceiling.
A Martyr Buried in Our Altar?
For years, parishioners have wondered whose relics are contained in our church altar. Unfortunately, no documentation existed to answer the question. Until now...
Going to Confession in the Parish Activities Center
A video update from Fr. Erik regarding Confession in the Parish Activity Center.
Renovation Update
A very visible change has been the demolition of the 36" brick casings of the support poles in the sanctuary. Removing these bulky facades greatly improves the altar sightline for worshipers. The transformation is dramatic, and the entire space feels larger and lighter.
