National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Procession in Emmitsburg
Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime event on Thursday, June 6, 2024, as we take part in the Mass and Solemn Eucharistic Procession at the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, MD with other pilgrims from across the Archdiocese and surrounding areas to honor our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament as part of the National Eucharistic Revival.
Two Options to Participate:

Option 1 - If you wish to travel on the parish bus, select this option & reserve your seat today.
Schedule:
6a.m. - Departure from St. John Parking Lot via bus
8:30a.m. - Mass in the Mother Seton Basilica with Archbishop Lori
9:45a.m. [Optional] - Eucharistic Procession -Join Archbishop Lori and pilgrims as they process the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Emmitsburg. Procession immediately follows 8:30a.m. Mass. Planned stops for brief prayer at Mother Seton School, Seton Center, and St. Joseph Church. Some portions of the route are not wheelchair accessible. Total distance 1.4 miles.
12 – 1:30p.m. - Lunch is available for purchase. Enjoy a meal on the beautiful grounds at the home of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. All lunch options will be available for purchase or bring your own food. Indoor space available in case of rain.
2p.m. - Bus departs for St. John parking lot.
Bus seats must be reserved online in advance at $40 per person. The Seton Shrine also requests pilgrims to register for the Mass and Procession in advance for planning purposes through their website. See the link below. All are welcome!
Registration for the bus requires two steps: (After registering for the bus, please remember to come back and register for the events at the Shrine.)

1:30 – 4:00p.m. [Optional] - Pilgrim Walk in Mother Seton's Footsteps from Seton Shrine to Lourdes Grotto - Two hundred years ago, Mother Seton and her sisters would often walk "up the mountain" to pray. Follow in her footsteps during this walking pilgrimage on to the campus of Mount St. Mary's University and Seminary, ending at the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes. Join for the full 3.5 mile walk or for only a part of it. Planned stops for brief prayer at Mt. St. Mary's University, Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, and St. Anthony Shrine parish. Walk is 3.5 miles with 750+ feet of elevation gain. Please wear walking shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather, rain or shine. Please Note: Return transportation to the Mother Seton Shrine is on your own, either by walking or by making arrangements to carpool back to the Shrine.
