Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee maintenance operation of the church, rectory, and school buildings.
2. Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the church and school. Using basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, troubleshoot issues, and repair or interface with outside contractors.
3. Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
4. Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
5. Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, painting, trash).
6. General repair of office items such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
7. Operation of machinery (blower, mower, utility vehicle).
8. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Flexible hours based on availability and tasks. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
9. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; some college or trade school desired

  • Must pass criminal background check and Archdiocesan child protection training

  • Ability to follow instructions and work well with fellow employees

  • Pleasant demeanor working with all campus staff

  • General knowledge of the Catholic Church is helpful

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 to 50 lbs. Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
