Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries 2022

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I am sending a quick reminder that we will be taking part in the 2022 Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries’ Let Us Give Thanks campaign at all of our Masses this weekend. The Annual Appeal sustains a great number of different charitable works throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

In addition to the Archdiocesan-wide programs that the Appeal supports, we are able to make a powerful local impact through our parish rebate, which we will again give away entirely to three great Catholic causes:

  • The Source of All Hope urban missionary work that Fr. James Boric and his missionaries at the Basilica have been doing in Baltimore City for a few years now. Last year, your gifts to the Annual Appeal made it possible for the missionaries to do their work on the streets of Baltimore as full-time missionaries. Thank you!

  • Support for St. Joseph Monastery Parish in West Baltimore, led by Fr. Mike Murphy. Last year, your gifts helped to replace their decades-old church boiler in time for winter. Thank you!

  • Even more locally, your gifts also helped families send their children to our Parish School at St. John by providing additional tuition assistance to those in need. Thank you!

Last year, through your generosity, we exceeded our parish goal! In 2021 we had almost 500 families donate more than $195,000, with an average gift of $398. That's amazing! As we make our gifts this year, please know that we will again take our entire rebate and give it back to the same three charitable works so that your gifts can continue making a powerful impact in the lives of our brothers and sisters.

Whether you attend Mass in-person or virtually this weekend, you will be invited to make a gift or pledge of support to the Appeal at this weekend’s Masses. And please know that you can always make a gift or pledge online here... too.

Please join me in helping to make this year’s Annual Appeal a success as we support the many beautiful charities that bring the light of Christ out into our world.

Thank you!

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Erik Arnold
