Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land this September

Join Fr. Erik for an unforgettable pilgrimage to the Holy Land this September 15-25, 2026, as we walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Our pilgrimage will take us to Galilee and Jerusalem, where we will visit and pray at the sites made holy by Jesus, in the very places where he preached, taught, and performed miracles.

Highlights in Galilee include visits to Nazareth, the Mount of Beatitudes, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, where Jesus performed many of his miracles, Cana, and other holy sites.

In Jerusalem, our highlights include the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, built over the site where Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised; Gethsemani; the Upper Room; the house of Caiaphas, where Peter denied Jesus three times; and many other holy sites. Outside of Jerusalem, we will also visit Bethlehem, the Jordan River, Bethany, and the Dead Sea, among other sites.

Please note: This pilgrimage requires substantial walking in areas that are not accessible to walkers or wheelchairs. In many areas, especially Jerusalem, the streets are cobblestone. Because of the historic nature of many sites, there are often steep steps without elevator access. Before registering, interested parishioners must contact Fr. Erik to verify they are able to meet the demands of this pilgrimage. Please email church@stjohnsp.org to inquire!
